Pre-Production Update #1: On The Horizon

Hi Everyone!

hope you are having a great week. Let's go right to the news!

Pre-Production

From the end of the campaign, we have been working non-stop to finish our pre-production before the Chinese New Year.

As you know, February is a dead month for factories in China and this time around we wanted to be prepared before that happened.

Since we managed to send the files before the campaign started, our manufacturer has been incredible and have achieved so much during such a narrow time before the holidays.

While the wooden components for Tao Long took 14 iterations to get done with our old manufacturer, this took just two. We are so excited about the results.

There is still work to be done into polishing the stones and work on the insert which we are still brainstorming how to do it, but thankfully we will have enough time before our manufacturer comes back. Also keep in mind that the numbers on the leaves are a placeholder.

We know that we have improved during the last year and while July is our deadline, we are confident we will do better.

 

Backerkit

We wanted to give a heads up regarding a few things that will be available on Backerkit and so we've decided to delay the surveys for a moment.

Very limited quantities of the deluxe editions of our previous campaigns will be available at a higher price to get rid of some extra stock we currently have, they will be only available to purchase to backers on Kickstarter.

We will post an update ~2 days before the emails are sent so nobody is caught off guard if they plan to get one of these.

Last 24 hours! Golden fireflies and new Favor Token reveal.

We just entered our last 24 hours for the campaign and we have a couple things to show you! 

Fireflies Expansion   

Fireflies are meant to be played together with the Air Spirit, but there are some other interesting ways to use the same mechanic on other Spirits too. 

By reaching 352'000€ we will be unlocking five metal fireflies to use in game. 

The core rules are quite simple. The Air Spirit becomes one of the most valuable Spirits in the game because of the higher spirits count. 

When playing with the Fireflies Expansion, place one firefly token on top of each Air Spirit tile with two spirit symbols (total of five). When a player collects an Air Spirit tile with a firefly on it, it will collect and keep the firefly on the tile. 

At the end of the game, the player that has the majority of fireflies will lose the tiles with a firefly on top. The only thing the Air Spirit wants is running wild chasing lights.

Golden Fireflies 

To celebrate the announcement of our Fireflies expansion we are including a set of five Golden Fireflies to all our Life Bundle owners. No Stretch goal necessary!

By adding this different color, you will have another layer of difficulty for your games. We will suggest game scenarios in the mini rulebook coming along with these. 

If you are not pledging towards the Life Bundle but you still want to get a hold of this limited edition set, you can add 5€ to your pledge total to purchase this Add-on. 

Solo Game Contest Stretch Goal 

Some of you are playing our SoloGame announced in one of our recent Updates. 

We are more than half way through and it's going great! If you want to join the game, click here! We are finally revealing the Mistery Stretch Goal: a Favor token with -1 Fireflies. 

You will see the token rarely, but when you do, interesting things will happen!

From Where We Stand

Hello everyone!

What an incredible final rush! You managed to unlock our final stretch goal: The Fireflies expansion!

We can't express how grateful we feel about all your incredible support, with many of you staying up late for the final hours, you are just the best!

It always feels amazing but nostalgic wrapping up a campaign. We loved these three weeks with you! If you want to keep in touch with us during the development of our titles we suggest to take a look at our Ambassadors group. We are a big family of more than 400 members! :D

Backerkit

If you are new to Kickstarter perhaps you don't know how you tell us your shipping information and how to specify which add-ons you want, in this case, we will use a platform known as Backerkit.

In there you will be able to confirm your pledge level, even upgrade it if you want to, select your add-ons if any and enter your shipping information in a simple way, the process is pretty much that of any online store.

You will receive an email in ~10 days with an URL to access it, there is no time limit to complete it but if you want to receive it in the first wave, make sure you do before the vessels with the games arrives in our different warehouses in a few months!

New Stretch Goal revealed and Spirits of the Forest Tournament!

Hello everyone! The weekend is almost here, we hope you are having a great day! Today we will talk about a New Stretch Goal and our Spirits of the Forest Tournament.  

We did not expect so many of you! Sixty four participants is an incredible way to start the first tournament ever on Kickstarter!  

To all our participants:  

You will receive an email with your assigned group. 

Please be sure to do as follows:
1) Access our Discord voice chat TODAY (Jan 19th) at 16:00 EST – 22:00 GMT+1
2) Join the voice chat room that matches your group number
3) Wait for one of our Judges to join the game to explain and assist if necessary.  

The first round will be composed of sixteen 4-player matches. The winner will pass to the Quarter Finals. The total duration of the first match will be around 30min (+10min for explanation, organization). After that, players that lost the game may feel free to leave or spectate the rest of the Tournament.  

From the Quarter finals to announcing our winner, we estimate around 3 hours total.

 

To all our spectators:

You can visit our Discord channel and join any Tabletopia game to spectate freely (all the links will be reported in our text chat called: #general-spectators). The final will be commented in the Lobby room. Best of luck to everybody! 

Discover new forests - Stretch Goal revealed!

We still have so many surprises to uncover and the Air Spirit is waiting for us! In the meanwhile we felt like celebrating a very important milestone. 

By reaching a total funding of 281.530€ we will surpass our funding on Tao Long: The way of the Dragon. 

By unlocking this Stretch Goal we will add four additional pages to the Deluxe Edition Rulebook to hold three new interesting and tense forest scenarios. If players want to enroll into "The Joruney", they will be able to play all the different scenarios by adding the nature points of each game into their total score in the game.

New forest layouts and about our Pledge Manager

Hello everyone! We are so close to the last 48h, and while tomorrow we will focus on what we achieved together during these past three weeks, today is all about thanking you for all your incredible support.  

New Forest and The Journey  

We recently unlocked three new forest scenarios. You can play them separately up to four players or play the Journey where you play all three games and the scores obtained will be added to the Journey total. The player with the most Nature Points at the end of the Journey will be the winner.  

Pledge Manager  

We expect to launch our Backerkit for Spirits of the Forest around 10 days after the campaign ends.  

Since our Deluxe and Collector's are Kickstarter Exclusives, we won't be accepting Late pledges this time. By pledging 1€ you won't be receiving emails from Backerkit.  

If you want to get ahold of a Deluxe or Collector's we recommend pledging towards the Retail Edition of the game (12€) to access Backerkit. You will be able to upgrade your current pledge or buy extra Deluxe or Collector's copies as an Add-on.  

Collector's edition upgrade  

As many of you requested, you can upgrade your free Retail Edition copy included in the Life Bundle to a complete Deluxe with all the Stretch Goals unlocked by adding 20€ to your pledge.  

This message is for letting you know that we are including an additional set of Aether stones for that copy for free (just like in the Early Bird)
