Stretch Goals Unlocked   

So far, you have unlocked 22 Stretch Goals, Air Spirit only 10k away and still a couple more surprises.

New Stretch Goal 

By reaching this milestone, we will be unlocking two new favor tokens: +1 Air Spirit and +1 Nature Point. Tokens will be wooden for Deluxe, cardboard for retail. 

Be reminded that our Deluxe and Life Bundle are Kickstarter Exclusives and we won't have Late Pledge for those.

Air Spirit is running wild, chasing fireflies

What an incredible rush! We are thrilled of your incredible support and we are sure you will love what's to come.   

Air Spirit and Favor Token Unlocked!  

By unlocking this Stretch Goal, we are including 8 new tiles to the game for the Air Spirit, that is represented 13 times! 

The Air Spirit can be used in any of the different game modes, solo mode included!, but we find it will create even more interesting choices in three and four players games. 

We also unlocked two new Favor tokens for the game. One for the Air Spirit and the other that represents a Nature Point. The player that gets the Nature Favor Token will immediately score 1 Nature Point.

Custom Plastic Insert 

You have been actively asking about this and we feel that an insert might help arranging the game in the best way possible. 

By unlocking this stretch goal, we will be adding a custom plastic insert to the Deluxe and Collector's edition. 

We are still working with our manufacturer to find the best arrangement while giving the proper spotlight to the art below, which we will probably change to a forest pattern. Design is not final. 

Fireflies Expansion 

Rumors say that the Air Spirit is quite attracted to fireflies... 

With this Stretch Goal we will unlock five metal fireflies that will give an incredible touch to the whole experience. 

We won't reveal more information until our 24 mark. It's the perfect moment to play a little game! 

We don't want to confuse new backers coming to the campaign, so this little contest will happen in the comments sections of this update! Let's keep our main comment section helpful and always!

Win our turn based Cooperative Solo Game and unlock a Stretch Goal!

Hello everyone! Today is a day of Celebration. Thanks to your support we surpassed both the funding goal and the total backers of Tao Long. Congratulations! you just unlocked three different setups for the game and The Journey game mode! We will explain how it works in our next update. 

Solo Card improvement Unlocked! 

Thanks so much for all your amazing support in the voting process. We fell is time to give back all the love you are giving us. We are unlocking the Solo Card improvement! 

While we walk towards the Air Spirit, let's play our centennial game! 

Mystery Stretch Goal! 

During the next couple of days, you will be cooperatively playing a Solo Game of Spirit of the Forest by voting for the tile you want to pick up on boardgamegeek. In case you don't know how the Solo mode works, here is how it will play. For more information we invite you to read our rules in our Kickstarter page. 

Game Setup:  

- There are 48 tiles total in the forest.  - There are nine different Spirits in the game, each tile shows the number of those Spirits in the entire game. For example, there are 7 spirit symbols for dew drops (light blue spirit) in the game. 

On your turn: 

- You can only take one tile from one of the ends of the forest (face up tiles).
- You will be able to vote for one of the choices.
- The most voted tile will be collected by the player and the tile at the other end of the Forest will be collected by your opponent. 

Favor tokens: 

- You all have received a moss favor token. That means you have +1 on that Spirit symbol.
- When one row is depleted, the first face-down favor token will be revelaed and collected by the opponent.
- When a second row is depleted, the second face-down favor token will be revealed and collected by the opponent.
- When a third row is depleted, the game ends. 

Win Condition: 

Players will need to have the majority in all nine Spirits to win (ties are allowed). Turns and voting: Turns might take up to 4 hours depending on how voting proceeds. Voting will happen in the comments section on BGG with a poll. Power Sources are not counted in the Solo version of the game.  Best of luck, Seraphs!

 

Wooden tiles proofs, Dry Eraser and a New Spirit!

Pre-production Deluxe  

We learn from Tao Long that time is essential and that is why we want to have the game ready for mass production as soon as the campaign is over. Ninox has been making games for a long time, and working with them is delightful.  

The wooden discs took one iteration and we are extremely happy with the colors and the printing. Here is a photo of them! As you probably know, we will take more photos as soon as we get the samples.  

We also worked on the tiles. Having no bleed on the edges on the tiles makes heat transfer quite more complex, but we managed to print on top of all the surface of the wood.  

We are not pleased with the pantone color we used to paint the wood, so we are changing to white to see how it looks. As you can see the color of the spirit symbol will match the pantone we used for the wood. We will keep you updated about it, but we are very near to the final product.  

New Add-on 

Dry erase Scoreboard We have been talking about this for a while and many of you have requested it too. This 140x176mm board will feature all the different types of score in the game as in the Score Pad and can easily fit the Deluxe Edition. Free marker included!

You can purchase this add-on by increasing your pledge by 6€. Extra shipping is included!

All Life Bundle backers will get the Dry erase score board free with their Collector’s Edition.   

Additional Leaves for Season Expansion  

By unlocking this Stretch Goal, we will add four more leaves with a new interesting take. If any of the revealed leaves show a seed symbol (Nature point) the player that will get the last tile on that row will also get the leaf, adding 1 Nature point to the player’s total.  

New Air Spirit  

We are extremely excited about this Stretch Goal. By unlocking the Air Spirit, we will add eight new wooden tiles to the game (cardboard for retail). By having 13 spirit symbols, this becomes one of the most valuable Spirits. These tiles can be added to any game mode, but we really recommend trying it in 3-4 player games, it gets super tense!  

We want to remind you that the voting phase for the Most Anticipated game is still open! More information in our Update 11.

Life box, a special Stretch Goal and Retailers Box!

Hello everyone! We recently unlocked another stretch goal, and while we all work towards the next, we want to give you something else, but before that, let's talk about how Pre-production is going.  

Life Bundle Box  

After our experience with Tao Long, we decided to go ahead and work on pre-production while the campaign is going. We have been playing with our Collector's box effect together with our manufacturer.

Here is a video, colours are not final.

The technique we are using for this one is quite rare since only two manufacturers have the machinery in China. The finish is called Scodix and it is a mixture of spot UV and embossing, to give the feeling of touching leaves when you pass your hand over it.

Table Cloth  

We promised more photos with the components of the Table Cloth Add-on. The Table Cloth is available as an Add-on for 10€. Collectors are getting it inside their bundle.

New Special Stretch Goal!  

Thanks to you all, Spirits of the forest have been nominated as Most Anticipated Game of 2018 in the following categories:  

Overall, Crowd Funded, Solitaire, Abstract, Fantasy.  

As suggested by Callum (thanks!), we decided to improve the Solo Player Card stock to cardboard and print the back of the card with a score track. If you like the game and you want to give a little more support, help us reach 1000 votes in the Abstract and Overall category! Thanks for all your love!
